Blogs, Beagles and Boutiques

I joined two Etsy teams- Etsy Freethinkers and Etsy Beagles Team, because of course, I have a beagle and she's the awesomest (check her out in the pic). I've already met a lot of cool people through the forums and both teams seem like a good fit for me.

You'll also notice I added a blogroll in the right column. The Beagles Team blog is there. I'll be adding the Freethinkers soon, as well as any other blogs of fellow Etsians that strike my little fancy. My other blog, The Twisted Turtle, is there, too. I was forced to start it for a grad school class last semester and I've been trying to keep up with it. It has a school/graphic design/writing focus in case you care.


I finally started advertising this week after I finally designed a banner that I find somewhat acceptable (I'm still tweaking and even considering a complete overhaul, but for now this one will suffice). But anyway, I managed to put my banner paranoia aside, and put some ads on Facebook with surprisingly good results. My response rate was well above the average response rate. And for the low price, I think I'll keep going with it.

And the biggest news of the evening- I've been accepted as a seller for Trendy Shoppes, an online boutique focusing on indie designers and handmade items. I'm excited for this opportunity! Look for more updates about my designs for sale on that site.
